Tower of London: Early Access + Opening Ceremony + Boat Ride + Westminster Tour

Guide Jo was outstanding. So informative and nice. Great experience

Our guide Babs was wonderful. She was incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and funny. I even saw my fifteen year old, typically stoic son, crack a smile a few times. Having the privilege of seeing the opening ceremony, wander the Crown Jewels with absolutely ZERO crowds (I’m talking if there were two other people in any given room with us it was a lot), and meander the White Tower like we owned the place was priceless. The river cruise was relaxing (you can order food from where you are sitting and they’ll bring it to you!), entertaining, and full of tidbits on the many significant sights along the Thames. On the tour of Westminster, Babs kept our small group engaged with information and details you would likely never know or notice on your own. Babs took great care to be sure the group was together and accounted for, and took particular care to be sure a participant with special needs got to where the group was going smoothly. Babs may be petite, but she can project her voice with the best of them, so as long as you keep relatively close you won’t miss any of her funny and informative commentary. Please please please don’t make the same mistake I made - BRING SOME TIP MONEY because when the tour is over you WILL want to show your appreciation, and Babs does not have a contactless way to accept tips. I know YouTube told you over and over again that cash won’t be necessary, but do yourself a favor and keep a few pounds (or dollars!) on you for tipping. Thank you, Babs, for an unforgettable experience. This was my third time at The Tower and I can’t imagine doing this the “old fashioned” way ever again. And the highest compliment of all, from my son who never volunteers to speak about anything ever, said, unsolicited, “That was really good. I definitely like London more than New York.”

Jo was fabulous! She told detailed stories and historical facts about the Tower of London, London, and Westminster area. The morning opening ceremony was nice to see. Being there first thing in the morning before the crowds was a nice plus. We were able to walk through at our own pace. You could spend more time looking at everything so if you are into reading all the descriptions and want to know about the armor just stick to Tower of London tour. It was great seeing the city from the river. Jo catered the tour to our needs and answered all questions. Super insightful and great hearing about the history of London as a whole.

The guide is so knowledgeable and informative, have answers to all kinds of questions, including silly ones! 😅 we followed her lead and changed the route spontaneously, we saw the changing guard at the 1st row (best view)! Amazing experience that I’d recommend to anyone, even if you’re not a first-timer to London!
