Pompeii: Small Group Guided Tour + Roundtrip Train

El traslado en tren desde Napoli a Pompei es muy malo

We loved our tour guide. She was passionate and very engaging! The train tickets were issued without much explanation on the return leg of our trip from Pompeii to Rome, and ended up getting off at the wrong station. A bit confusing.

Indrukwekkende tour en uitstekend georganiseerd door de medewerkers van InStazione! Onze host ving ons op op treinstation Rome Termini en bracht ons naar de juiste trein. De reis per hogesnelheidstrein naar Napels verliep vlekkeloos en was heel comfortabel. In Napels werden we opgevangen door de volgende host en op het kantoor van InStazione kregen we duidelijke uitleg en de retourkaartjes voor de treinreis Napels-Pompei. Een van de hosts reisde met ons mee naar Pompei en droeg ons daar over aan de gids. De Italiaanse gids was heel deskundig en vriendelijk, legde goed en levendig uit en had veel gevoel voor humor. Zij heeft ons een kleine 2 uur rondgeleid en daarna was er nog voldoende tijd om zelf rond te kijken. Verbeterpunten: laat langer van tevoren weten wanneer de treintickets voor de hogesnelheidstrein worden verstuurd en of dit per WhatsApp of per email gebeurt; de trein tussen Napels en Pompei (reis van ca. 35 minuten) was oud en overvol. Meer ruimte en zuurstof zou prettig zijn.

TGV très apprécié. Visite de Pompéi excellente, mais disons que nous étions plutôt un moyen groupe qu’un petit groupe. Soyez avisé que c’est une très grosse journée à partir de Rome. Nous avions apporté un lunch, sinon nous n’aurions pas eu le temps de dîner. Les agents de In Stazione ont été très aimables à Rome, elles nous ont guidées vers notre train. A l’arrivée à Naples nous attendions une personne habillée de la même façon que celle à Rome (c’est ce qu’on nous a dit), mais la jeune femme était en tailleur brun avec un papier portant nos noms dessus. Et elle nous attendais en face du quai de la gare et non au quai lui même. Par la suite elle nous a amené au comptoir pour recevoir les instructions rendues à Pompéi. Tout s’est bien déroulé. Soyez très bien chaussés. C’est difficile de marcher sur ces grosses pierres inégales. Pour le retour à Naples en fin d’après midi nous aurions aimé avoir plus de précisions pour se diriger au bon quai. Le train de retour à Naples était plus que bondé, il faisait très chaud et il n’y a pas d’aération, disons que ça été un retour éprouvant. De Naples à Rome en TGV, super le train est parti à l’heure et arrive à Rome à l’heure.

Super organisation et un accompagnement remarquable.

Reasonabley well organised trip from Rome to Pompei with plenty of time between trains and buses. Tour guide was well informed although at 2 hours long left little time to explore the city yourself.

I could not recommend more highly the trip offered by Tiqets to Pompeii. Everything was so easy to arrange and so well planned. Staff were on hand at Naples Train station and there was helpful information given at the tour company office in the station along with a map of Pompeii, a bag and a bottle of water. Staff kindly printed out the times of the trains for the return from Pompeii and were on the other end of the phone to deal with questions and check that all was going to plan. The Tiqets staff were then at Pompeii to direct us to our guide who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the excavations. It really took the stress out of the day and made it so relaxing and enjoyable. One of many trips booked with Tiqets and I will certainly book again
